Nadia Elena Comaneci

In 1976, she became an instant celebrity after she scored the first ever perfect 10 on the asymmetric bar in the Montreal Olympic Games. To add to that she scored six more perfect 10s, and became the youngest all-around Olympic gold medalist. She was just 14 years of age. She did more than get international attention, but she also placed Romania into the limelight. With a score that was unattainable and a sporting legend, she brought gymnastics to the forefront of the world's interest. This also influenced the public's view of female athletes. Her impact on the Olympics was so great the two gymnastics moves which are the toe-on motion and release is dedicated to her. Both have been rated as high-level difficulty. Also, she performed very well in World Championships, European Championships, and Olympics. Her performance led to her becoming a legend and she's one of the most well-known gymnasts in the world.
